5: For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. And you know that the way we lived among you was further proof of the truth of our message.
1 Thessalonians 2:13
- And we will never stop thanking God that when we preached his message to you, you didn't think of the words we spoke as being just our own. You accepted what we said as the very word of God--which, of course, it was. And this word continues to work in you who believe.
2 Thessalonians 3:7
- For you know that you ought to follow our example. We were never lazy when we were with you.
- We never accepted food from anyone without paying for it. We worked hard day and night so that we would not be a burden to any of you.

Galatians 3:2

- Have you lost your senses? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?
- You have suffered so much for the Good News. Surely it was not in vain, was it? Are you now going to just throw it all away?
- I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law of Moses? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.
Colossians 2:2
- My goal is that they will be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have full confidence because they have complete understanding of God's secret plan, which is Christ himself.

- This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain of heaven into God's inner sanctuary.

- I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.
Hebrews 6:11

- Keep a close watch on yourself and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right, and God will save you and those who hear you.

- We have proved ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, our sincere love, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
- We have faithfully preached the truth. God's power has been working in us. We have righteousness as our weapon, both to attack and to defend ourselves.
1 Thessalonians 2:1
- You yourselves know, dear brothers and sisters, that our visit to you was not a failure.
- You know how badly we had been treated at Philippi just before we came to you and how much we suffered there. Yet our God gave us the courage to declare his Good News to you boldly, even though we were surrounded by many who opposed us.
- So you can see that we were not preaching with any deceit or impure purposes or trickery.
- For we speak as messengers who have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He is the one who examines the motives of our hearts.
- Never once did we try to win you with flattery, as you very well know. And God is our witness that we were not just pretending to be your friends so you would give us money!
1 Corinthians 3:16
- Don't you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?
Isaiah 55:11
- It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.

- We reject all shameful and underhanded methods. We do not try to trick anyone, and we do not distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know that.
- If the Good News we preach is veiled from anyone, it is a sign that they are perishing.
1 Corinthians 9:19
- This means I am not bound to obey people just because they pay me, yet I have become a servant of everyone so that I can bring them to Christ.
- When I am with the Jews, I become one of them so that I can bring them to Christ. When I am with those who follow the Jewish laws, I do the same, even though I am not subject to the law, so that I can bring them to Christ.
- When I am with the Gentiles who do not have the Jewish law, I fit in with them as much as I can. In this way, I gain their confidence and bring them to Christ. But I do not discard the law of God; I obey the law of Christ.
- When I am with those who are oppressed, I share their oppression so that I might bring them to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone so that I might bring them to Christ.
- I do all this to spread the Good News, and in doing so I enjoy its blessings.
Ephesians 1:17
- asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.
- I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the wonderful future he has promised to those he called. I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people.
- I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power
- that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms.
Acts 11:21
- The power of the Lord was upon them, and large numbers of these Gentiles believed and turned to the Lord.

- That is the plan I follow, too. I try to please everyone in everything I do. I don't just do what I like or what is best for me, but what is best for them so they may be saved.

- Obviously, I'm not trying to be a people pleaser! No, I am trying to please God. If I were still trying to please people, I would not be Christ's servant.

- For my message came by a direct revelation from Jesus Christ himself. No one else taught me.
Acts 2:33
- Now he sits on the throne of highest honor in heaven, at God's right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today.
Romans 15:18
- I dare not boast of anything else. I have brought the Gentiles to God by my message and by the way I lived before them.

1 Corinthians 12:7
- A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church.
- To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another he gives the gift of special knowledge.
- The Spirit gives special faith to another, and to someone else he gives the power to heal the sick.
- He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and to another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to know whether it is really the Spirit of God or another spirit that is speaking. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, and another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.
- It is the one and only Holy Spirit who distributes these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.
Psalms 10:2
- Proud and wicked people viciously oppress the poor. Let them be caught in the evil they plan for others.
- For they brag about their evil desires; they praise the greedy and curse the LORD.
Hebrews 10:22
- let us go right into the presence of God, with true hearts fully trusting him. For our evil consciences have been sprinkled with Christ's blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
2 Peter 1:19
